How do I let you know when and where I'm travelling abroad?

If you are travelling abroad it is advisable to register your travel plans with us as this will notify our transaction monitoring systems that you will be using your personal card abroad.

This will significantly reduce the likelihood of your card transactions being blocked abroad.

Let us know you will be using your card abroad

If you have our Mobile app, it’s easy to let us know you are going to use your debit card abroad. Just log in, select the ‘More’ menu and tap our 'Going abroad' section.

You will be able to create one Travel Plan at a time, between 2 to 90 days, and that can include up to seven countries. Each country will need to be registered individually. You can visit How do I let you know I am going abroad on the NatWest Mobile app? for more details.

If you are signed up for Online Banking you can log on and register the details of your trip yourself by completing the online form. It only takes a few minutes.

All you need to do is select 'Cards' from the left hand menu and register your travel plans in the 'Using your cards abroad' section. For debit cards select 'Manage your travel plans for your debit card' and for credit cards select 'Manage your travel plans for your credit card'.

Alternatively for your debit card you can select 'Debit card abroad' from the 'Our products' menu and enter the details of your trip. This can be found on the right hand side of the page.

Alternatively you can call telephone banking or pop in to your local branch where our staff would be happy to help do this for you. Just make sure you let us know at least 24 hours in advance.
