What happens after I notify you of a bereavement?

Once we have seen the original Death Certificate* or Coroner's Interim Certificate (England & Wales only) or Abbreviated Extract (Scotland only), we'll send a letter to the executor or next of kin who has been appointed as our point of contact. This letter will explain the next steps in relation to closing the deceased's NatWest accounts and banking arrangements with us.

* If you are unable to obtain a Death Certificate or only have a copy of the Death Certificate, please contact our Bereavement Service Team so that we can advise how to proceed.
