What is Malwarebytes Premium?

We’re committed to helping you stay safe and secure online and are continuously investing in new fraud prevention tools and the latest security technology to keep you protected online.

Following a review of our existing services, we have formed a partnership with Malwarebytes to offer their product Malwarebytes Premium to our customers free of charge until at least June 2022.

Why is NatWest offering Malwarebytes Premium?

Malwarebytes is a widely respected anti-malware product which can protect your PC’s, tablets and phones from viruses and other malicious software. Their goal is to give every user a malware free experience.

It protects against emerging threats such as viruses which can target your personal data, ransomware which can encrypt or delete all your files and phishing scams which try to steal data with fake emails.

What systems does Malwarebytes Premium support?

Malwarebytes Premium is available for:

  • Windows - Windows 10 (32/64-bit), Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit), Windows 8 (32/64-bit), Windows 7 (32/64-bit)
  • Mac - MacOS 10.10 (or higher)
  • iPhone, iPad and iPod - iOS 11 (or higher)
  • Android - Android 4.4 (or higher)
  • Chrome OS - Malwarebytes for Chromebook is only available for Chromebooks that can install apps from the Google Play Store

We are offering this protection for free on up to 10 devices for personal and Premier customers and in future up to 30 devices for our business customers.

What does Malwarebytes Premium do?

Malwarebytes Premium protects you by:

  • Detecting and removing viruses, ransomware and other malware in real time with advanced anti malware technology
  • Catching threats automatically, so you're protected without even having to think about it
  • Detecting and blocking phishing scams used to steal your identity or access your bank account
  • Detecting and preventing contact with websites used by scammers and malicious parties
  • Stopping unwanted apps at source, using known poor developer reputation to protect you
  • Tells you which Android apps may have excessive permissions
  • Detecting ransomware before it can lock your device (Windows and Android device only)
  • Combining spam call blocking, text message filtering, ad blocking, and protection from scam
  • websites in one convenient iOS app
  • A similar Android app is in development and will be released soon

How can I get Malwarebytes Premium?

Malwarebytes Premium is currently only available to select Personal and Premier customers currently.

If you are a Personal or Premier digital customer and are opted in to receiving marketing communications, then you should have received an email from us.

This email will contain information about Malwarebytes, your unique coupon code and a link to the Malwarebytes sign-up page.

If you don’t have an email, this is likely due to your marketing preference choice. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to market this offer to customers who have opted out of such communications.

We are working hard to deliver a change to our online service, which will allow all customers to claim Malwarebytes Premium as soon as we can. We will be extending this offer to our business customers at this time too.

How do I install Malwarebytes?

Once you have created your Malwarebytes account using your unique coupon code, you will be presented with your licence key. You can follow the below guides on how to download and install Malwarebytes Premium, depending on your device:

I have already paid for Malwarebytes, what can I do?

Our offer will not allow you to claim a refund from Malwarebytes for the licence you have already paid for however you will be able add the licence for 10 devices to that existing account. You can start using those immediately and cancel your existing account at its next renewal. To add your coupon code to your existing account, follow the below steps:

  1. Click on the NatWest Malwarebytes landing page. (opens in a new window)
  2. Click the Sign in tab.
  3. Enter your existing Malwarebytes account credentials.
  4. When you click ‘Sign in’, you be asked to enter your coupon code.
  5. Provided the coupon code is valid, you will see your ten devices added to your account under a new license key.

If I am having issues with Malwarebytes where can I go for help?

Malwarebytes has a support page (opens in a new window) on their website which provides in depth guides which will help you solve most issues.

If you cannot find the answer to your issue, please sign into your account and raise a ticket, this will be managed via the priority NatWest support queue and will be your fastest route to a solution.

Malwarebytes software – NatWest offer Terms

Introduction

  • NatWest (“we/us/our”) are offering you a licence to use Malwarebytes software. You don’t need to pay for this licence, but it’s referred to as a “paid licence” in the Malwarebytes End User Licence Agreement
  • Before you activate and use the software, please ensure that you have read the End User License Agreement (opens in a new window) and Privacy Policy (opens in a new window). The End User Licence Agreement sets out the terms for your use of the software

Eligibility

  • You must be a customer of NatWest and must be registered for online banking to be eligible for this offer
  • Malwarebytes software can be used on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Android and iOS devices

Duration of Licence

  • This licence expires in May 2022 unless we tell you otherwise
  • Malwarebytes has the right to end the licence at any time by giving you 3 month’s notice
  • If we decide not to renew our arrangement with Malwarebytes, your licence will not be renewed at its next annual renewal date (unless you agree with Malwarebytes that you will pay the renewal fee directly). You will be given at least three month’s notice if this happens
  • We will not have any obligation to you to provide substitute software from a different supplier, if this licence is ended by either us or Malwarebytes

Registration and use of software

  • Any activation codes you receive from us are for your personal use and are non-transferable
  • Malwarebytes reserves the right to terminate any licences that are re-sold or transferred
  • The licence you receive as part of this offer is limited to using the software as follows:
    • on 10 devices if you are a personal or Premier customer
    • on 30 devices if you are a business customer
  • If you need the Malwarebytes software to be used on additional devices you will need to purchase a further licence directly from Malwarebytes

What if something goes wrong?

  • If the software doesn't perform as you expected and you suffer loss, your right to redress will be against Malwarebytes as set out in the End User Licence Agreement
  • The terms and conditions of your NatWest account cover what happens if something goes wrong with your account (for example, if an unauthorised payment has been made). These account terms and conditions are not impacted by your use of Malwarebytes
