Can I open a Fixed Term Savings Account under a Power of Attorney?

Yes, a Fixed Term Savings Account can be opened under a Power of Attorney; however the following additional requirements apply:

  • The name on the Fixed Term Savings Account and on the nominated account must be the same as the name on the Power of Attorney.
  • Fixed Term Savings Accounts cannot be opened in joint names where only one party is the customer and the other party is the Power of Attorney.
  • You will need to have a NatWest current account or a NatWest instant access savings account (excluding all Cash ISA accounts).
