What options are there when I need to make a payment?

We have different payment options to suit your needs when it comes to making a payment from your account.

Here are the options available to you based on the type of transaction you need to make:

Payments to UK bank accounts

A one off payment over £20,000.00

You can make CHAPS payments in a branch. Private banking customers can also make CHAPS payments through telephone banking.

A one off payment up to £20,000.00

You can make payments using online banking.

You can set up standing orders using online banking.

You can also make payments and regular payments through telephone banking with a limit of £10,000.00 or in a branch.

Payments to non UK bank accounts

You can make international payments using Online Banking or in a branch. Private banking customers can also make International payments through Telephone Banking.

Mobile payments

You can make payments of up to £250 through the Pay Your Contacts feature on our mobile banking app.

Alternatively for payees already saved, you can make payments up to £20,000.00 provided you have paid the payee before through Online Banking.

You can make payments using the account number and sort code through our 'Pay someone new' feature. No card-reader is required!

  • If you are paying a bill and we hold the company details in the mobile app then you can make payments up to £20,000.00 a day.
  • By providing the payee account number and sort code you can make payments of up to £250. You can make up to 5 smaller payments in a working day, although the sum of all such payments cannot exceed £250. The recipient will not appear in your saved payees.
