Ask a question

Why have I been charged an incorrect amount for my Transport for London journey?

If you have been charged an incorrect fare it could be for one of the following:

  • You failed to touch out at the end of your journey, therefore you will have been charged for a full day ticket.
  • You may have touched out with a different card that you touched in with, causing TfL to not register a complete journey.
  • You may have presented your Contactless debit card to the ticket inspector and TfL have later discovered that the card was not used to touch in or out at the beginning or end of your journey.

For further information regarding the calculation of your journey and payment, please contact Transport for London (opens in a new window) who will be happy to assist.
