How do I change my gender status on my account?

You will be able to go into any branch of NatWest to amend your gender status on your personal records. You will need to produce one of the following forms of identification to update your records:

  • A valid passport in your acquired gender
  • A UK driving licence in your acquired gender
  • A Birth Certificate in your acquired gender
  • A medical letter confirming that a change of gender is likely to be permanent
  • A Gender Recognition Certificate, but only on a volunteered basis

The branch member of staff will complete a simple form, and this will be processed within 5 working days.

If you are also wishing to change your name in our records, evidence of the change of name, such as a Deed Poll, will also be required.

If you do not wish to have a gender specific title on your account we can amend your records to Mx (a gender neutral title).
