To change the account number and sort code for a payee you will need to delete the existing payee details and set up a new payee. It is currently not possible to amend the account number or sort code for an existing payee online. In some instances if you want to change the payment reference details you will also need to delete the existing payee details and set up a new payee.

To delete the payee online:

  1. Log in to Online Banking at www.onlinebanking.natwest.com (opens in a new window)
  2. Select 'Payments and transfers' from the main menu, then on the payments and transfers landing page select 'Manage payees'
  3. Select the appropriate payee from your list
  4. Click on the 'Delete Payee' button and follow the instructions on screen to confirm the deletion of that payee

To pay someone new, you will require your mobile app if you have registered for Biometrics. If you haven't registered for Biometrics, you will need a card-reader. On 'Manage payees, select the 'Pay someone new' button and follow the instructions to set up your new payee and make a payment to them.
